Brett Lawrie was selected to play for the World Team at the 2009 MLB All-Star Futures Game in St. Louis at Busch Stadium. In mid-August, he was promoted to the Double-A Huntsville Stars. He was selected to the 2010 Futures Games on June 23. He finished the season with 285 batting, 63 RBIs, 90 runs, 8 home runs, 16 triples and 30 stolen bases in 135 games.
