Goju Kai Team Bid Farewell
The Nepalese Goju Kai karate team, who is due to take part in 6th World Goju Kai Karate Competition which is to be hosted in Mumbai, India, was bid farewell on Saturday by the newly appointed Constituent Assembly member Gagan Thapa and local senior citizen Hari Krishna Shahi in a farewell programme organized in Mitrapark, Kathmandu.
For the tournament that is to be held from Mangsir 25 to Poush 2, Nepalese team will consist of 10 female and 39 male participants, along with one head coach, 5 officials and 5 Nepalese referees under the leadership of vice-head coach of the team and vice-president of Goju Kai Karate Association Nepal, Indra Bahadur Shahi Khadgi, says a press release issued by the association.
The press release also states that competitors from 25 countries around the globe including USA, Canada, South Africa, Holland, Japan and other Asian and European nations will be taking part in the competition. Gagan Thapa, while bidding farewell to the participants and official, congratulated the team and encouraged them to give the competitors a tough competition by increasing their self-esteem and play courageously to take the name of the country to a high notion.
